Charly O'Connor, born Oxford 1989.

Spent her early years in Scotland exploring her Celtic heritage.

Now lives permanently in Cornwall with her mother Debbie who is described quite aptly by Charly as ' the most amazing woman, in my life ' and is currently a student of the Performing Arts at Truro College of Performing Arts.

Charly throws herself into ' Do you know anything? ' from the album: YARG produced by Neil O'Connor.

Powerful music boosted by intelligent lyrics is delivered with a confident and luminous voice.

With her blue vivid eyes.

This young artist catches the harsh social realities with intensity and sincerity.

Inhabited with melancholy, anger and humor, her songs draw on ironic situations and talk about abandonment, hope and of lost illusions.

A startling rendering, which you would do well to listen to, dear acolyte.

In the summer of 2006 Charly O’Connor appeared for the first time on stage at the Festival d’été de Beloeil, Québec, Canada.

She had been invited, as a guest artist by the singer-songwriter Valéry Saint-Germain

Charly also had the opportunity of singing backing vocals and to accompany her guitarist father Neil, for the first time on stage.

The public could at last witness her natural stage presence and was seduced by the brilliance of her vocal maturity.

Charly's father, producer & musician Neil O’Connor, Montréal.

Produced recorded and performed on all of the tracks of Charly's debut album: YARG.

In Charly's own words:

‘A fascinating adventure, [her first trip to Canada] an intense rendezvous and a fruitful meeting unbeknown to me were about to take place: the complicity of co-creation of a daughter and a father. The results were just incredible! Not only for their productivity; Neil and me recorded four new songs in less than one month, but also for being successful in bringing a style all of it’s own to the recording studio. The real achievement though is the freshness of the material and the high standard of the production. Produced by my Dad Neil, who also brilliantly conducted the arrangements and the guitar rhythms. My tunes quiver with the emotions of my lyrics and their melodies and combine those with my Dad's expertise on guitar - well you only have to listen to understand my enthusiasm.'

Charlotte Rose O’Connor estranged from her greater antecedence for most of her young life. Charly has walked a familiar path in her seventeen summers on this planet. Fiercely independent she relates the stories of old, she tells our story, your story and mine; the author of this page. Stories that have existed since time began. Long since abandoned by time and love but not without hope of the resurrection, yet to come.

In the beginning was the word and the word was...Charlotte Rose O’Connor.
