THE FLYS Own album proved to be a milestone for the development of O’Connor’s considerable career as an internationally renowned Producer.

To his credit O’Connor has been involved in the creation of artworks that would prove to influence a whole generation.

That career began under the tutelage of Tony Visconti and gained further development at Genetic Studios under the guidance of Martin Rushent.

Names that are now subscribed in the annals of rock history were developed by this ordinary working class guy, born of Coventry England.

Those names were to include: The Human League, The Stranglers, The Cure, and Steve Windwood.

In 1989 O’Connor worked with the Canadian band The Box who came to Genetic to record their album The Pleasure and the Pain with Martin Rushent.
He was introduced to Marc Durand the band’s manager and executive producer.
Marc Durand brought with him an album recorded by Montreal francophones Les Parfait Salaud that needed a remix.
He was offered the task of mixing their album at Genetic Studios and thus a relationship with Canada and in particular Montreal was begun.
Neil O’Connor continues his life and artworks in the Mile End neighbourhood of Montreal.
